The evening kicked off with Aki Narula's collection,
elegant as it was understated. The 'look', divided into day wear
and evening wear, was highlighted by flowing, fluid lines
|
|
and summery colours - sunshine yellow and lime green for the day,
muted beige for the night.
Straight silhouettes, kaftans or tunics
teamed with lungis, pajamas or layered pants. Aki himself was
present backstage, checking each outfit before it was presented
to the audience.
Sujit Mukherjee's spring line came next, the five models stepping
out to strains of Ndweh's Dream in skirts, pants, jackets... formal
wear with a soft look, courtesy day colours - salmon, oyster grey,
muted ivory.
